Imagine If Getting Active Across Cornwall
Imagine If is passionate about getting people active: using activity to prevent health problems occurring, rather than treating problems once they have begun to impact on people’s daily lives.

Our network of projects includes many activity sessions, including regular and one-off movement and activity workshops. Some of these we simply support, helping them get off the ground and promoting them through our network. One such activity is the Perranporth Healthy Walking Group. This group was set up January 2023, by the community, for the community. It’s going from strength to strength, perhaps because of the comradery of the people who avidly attend every Wednesday, or perhaps because the weather is now improving! Either way, everyone who joins for a morning stroll around the town and a weekly catch-up benefits – emotionally and physically – feeling more and more a part of their community every week. The simple act of a walk can be the difference between feeling low and feeling good for a few days, or even a week.

Imagine If also runs its own activity sessions – our Tuesday Walk and Talk for Pain group is becoming popular – especially since we started the Truro Pain Café at The Royal Cornwall Museum. This runs on two Tuesdays a month from Boscowen Park. Imagine If organises Chair Yoga sessions at the Perranporth Community Hub at St Michael’s Hall, which begins after the Hub drop in every Wednesday. Aimee from The Nook Wellbeing and Creative Space is such a wonderful, popular teacher that our numbers just keep getting bigger and bigger. Even better, we are able to offer this to the Perranporth community as a donations only session too, so it is accessible to all.
We often provide activity and movement-based sessions during our other groups and projects too. Our Menopause group in St Agnes involves Pilates, yoga and movement sessions, all focused around supporting Menopause aches and pains; our Pain Cafés regularly have gentle movement sessions for relaxation and wellbeing too.
