Perranwell Hub Summer Picnic a Success and audio book club launched

A wonderful day was had by all at our RVS Health and Wellbeing Hub’s summer picnic at The Perranwell Centre, Perranwell Station, on the 30th of July.

We were joined by the wonderful Ritzy Belles, a group of singers who cover classic songs from the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s. To watch them is like being transported back in time to a bygone era, and to see all our Hub attendees enjoying the performance was a real joy. Everyone jigged and enjoyed the music as the Ritzy Belles blasted out classic hit after classic hit.

As well as the wonderful music, we had an amazing buffet provided by Bon Appetit Cornwall, who made us a special, summer picnic spread for the occasion.

All our members from our Perranwell, Ponsanooth and Perranporth Hubs were invited to the Picnic to celebrate the summer together.

Our summer raffle went down well too, with gifts donated by Ethertingtons Farm Shop, Furniss Biscuits, The Penvention Park Hotel and The Royal Oak Pub. How lucky we are to be running our Hubs in such generous communities.

As part of the Picnic Fundraiser, we launched our very first Hub book club, a new scheme we’re trialling across our wellbeing Hub network as of this summer. The scheme sees us reusing end of the line audio books, giving them a new lease of life by offering them out to our Hub members for. We received our audio books from Linda from the wonderful Perranporth Library, who are excited to see how this inhouse book club runs. Many of our Hub members took audio books to enjoy over the summer and will swap them for new ones in September, when we resume after the break.

The Picnic was also the perfect opportunity to launch our new donate button on the website. You can now donate direct to your favoured Imagine If project, or to us directly, to support the important work we do in communities by going to the website: www.imagineif.net/#donate
