Make My Day Cosy Crates Project – Hubs spread festive cheer to those who are isolated this Christmas
This December our team and the amazing volunteers from Perranwell and Ponsanooth Health and Wellbeing Hubs will be spreading some festive cheer, by delivering over 20 Cosy Crates to older, more isolated members of our community.
With support from the local Community Matron, the District Nurses, and the local community, we will be delivering Cosy Crates to over 20 people who will struggle to get out this Christmas to get involved in other festive activities.
The Cosy Crates will include gifts and an array of items donated by the community as well as by Kennall Vale Primary School and Devoran Rainbows, and Brownies, who are also busy helping us collect items for the boxes and packing Cosy Crates ready for delivery, creating festive connections, and sharing joy with their community. Both groups have already collected so many wonderful items that will make a real difference to people in the community this Christmas.
The delivery of the Cosy Crates will be on the 20th December between 10am and 6pm. so watch out for updates on social media posts on to day to see how we're getting on with our delivering and to check out how it's going. More details about the Cosy Crates project can be found here on the Imagine If website:
Hub Coordinator Ellen Moule said this about the new Festive initiative: “This project has been born from a desire at the Hubs to reach new people, the older members of the community who may struggle to get out. We are constantly trying to find new ways of reaching the people who really need our support in the community.”
The inspiration for the Cosy Crates came from Nikki Kelly who says:
“I am thrilled that we can reach so many more people in our community this year. The project has grown beyond our expectations. We know it can be a difficult time for many and we wanted to make it a little brighter and create new connections for people to help reduce isolation and loneliness through our Cosy Crate deliveries. A massive thank you to Kennall Vale School and Devoran Rainbows and Brownies, and all the people that have supported us to reach and connect people to the help and support that is available through our hubs at this time of year”.
We are still looking for donations for our Cosy Crates, and we are always looking at ways to support the running of our Hubs. If you like to offer a gift to be added into a Cosy Crate this Christmas please email Ellen Moule at ellen.moule@imagineif.net.
